Kathleen C. Norris

WASHINGTON...Kathleen C. "Kathy" "Kate" Norris, 87, of Washington, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday evening, November 19, 2011. Kate was born on November 13, 1924 in Bicknell, Indiana to Charles and Muriel Arnett Colegrove. She married Ronald "Rod" Norris in Washington on March 23, 1947. Rod died on September 16, 2002 in East Peoria. Among those surviving are two sons, John (Becky) Norris of Loami, IL and Scott (Deb) Norris of Dewey, IL; two daughters, Leslie (Don) Leaver of Bloomington and Sue (John) Droege of Washington; one brother, Larry (Bonnie) Colegrove; two sisters-in-law, Jean Bradle of Metamora and Shirley Olsen of Washington; her dear friend who was like a sister, Sue Clark of Washington; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Kate was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack. Kate was a graduate of Washington Community High School in the class of 1943. She was raised in the Methodist faith and for several years had been a proud volunteer of the Proctor Service League at Proctor Hospital. Kate will always be remembered for the times spent with her children and grandchildren who she loved dearly and was very proud of. Funeral services for Kate will be at Mason-White Funeral Home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation for Kathy will be on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in Kathy?s name may be directed to either Proctor Auxiliary or Washington Historical Society. Those family members serving as pallbearers are Tony Byrd, Ross Leaver, Mike Capodice, Sean Rutledge, Dale Clark, John Norris and Doug Varella.
