Katheryn J. Katz

PEORIA...Katheryn J. Katz, 60, of Peoria, passed away at 11:59 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2011 at her home after a lengthy illness. Katheryn was born on May 7, 1951 in Peoria to Jim and Vivian Alsip Cornell. She married Jay Katz in Creve Coeur on August 5, 1994. Jay survives. Also surviving are five sisters, Carolyn Lunz, Betty (Butch) Stallings and Christine Cornell, all of Peoria, Phyllis (Gary) Masters of Buncombe, IL. and Micki (Scott) Davis of Pekin; two brothers, Joe (Terri) Cornell of Metamora and Tom Cornell of Peoria and 12 nieces and nephews. Katheryn had worked as a waitress at many local restaurants and had also been a seamstress and bartender. She also had helped in the family business "Paul?s Pipe Shoppe." She grew up attending Laramie Baptist Church. A celebration of life service for Katheryn will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Paul Isom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to either the Abbas Grotto Humanitarian Fund or Hospice Compassus.
