EAST PEORIA - Katheryn J. Brown, 91, of East Peoria passed away at 9:39 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria. Katheryn was born on Nov. 6, 1922, in Peoria to Purl and Cedelia (McGranahan) Gard. She married William LeRoy ""Roy"" Brown on May 16, 1942, in Cahokia, Mo. Roy passed away on Feb. 1, 2007, in East Peoria. Among those surviving are one son, Mike Brown of East Peoria; one brother, Robert (Barbara) Gard of East Peoria; one granddaughter, Emily Kipling of Brownsburg, Ind.; one grandson, Jonathan Brown of East Peoria; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and one sister. Katheryn and Roy were avid square dancers and were involved in various square dance clubs in the Peoria area. She also loved many different kinds of crafts when she had the opportunity. She will always be remembered as a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Graveside services for Katheryn will be on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting the family in arrangements.
