June Elizabeth Waters

June Elizabeth Waters, 99, of Metamora, IL passed away at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Snyder Village, Metamora. She was born on June 5, 1915 in Sandoval, IL to Lawrence F. and Mary S. (Harrah) Alwood. She married Robert V. Waters on November 27, 1937 at St. Mary?s Cathedral, Peoria. He died on Feburary 21, 1990. Surviving are her son Jack (Felicia) Waters of Tampa, FL, and daughters Susan (Don) Parr and Patricia (Ken) Parr both of Metamora; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert K. Waters in 1991, brother Richard "Dick" Alwood, and sisters Louise (Hannamen) Rohman, Erma Renshaw, and Georgia Easland. June worked at the Medical and Surgical Clinic in Peoria as a purchasing agent, retiring in 1977. She loved sewing, painting, fishing, playing bingo, and playing slot machines at casinos. She loved the Chicago Cubs and traveling to Arkansas and Mississippi. She also loved her little dog, Rosie. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 11, 2015 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Metamora with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 am until service time at the church. Burial will be held in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Snyder Village.
