Julia Ann Wireman of Washington, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
She was born to August and Ann Arnoldy in Yuba City, CA. Her husband, James, preceded her in death, as did her sister, Rosemary Hull of Chico, CA.
Surviving are two daughters, Ana (Dave) Warburton of Hardeeville, SC, and Terri (Ron) Crawford of Washington; two sons, Pat (Cheryl) Wireman of Morton and Mike (Sue) Wireman of Wichita, KS. She has four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She has one surviving sister, Cecilia (George) Rogers of Chico, CA, and several nieces and nephews in California.
Julie enjoyed thrift stores and garage sales, where she and Jim would spend time looking for treasures. She had a beautiful view from her family room windows and watched the birds and other wildlife that would visit the yard.
Although raised in California, she considered Washington, IL, her home and the best little town, bragging about how wonderful it was.
There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington, IL, her church of 70 years. Fr. John Steffen will celebrate the Mass. A private burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Patrick Catholic Church or OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
