EAST PEORIA...Judith "Judy" R. Heyder Ribak, 68, passed away peacefully at 12:20 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at her home with family at her side. Judy was born on October 28, 1943 in West Frankfort, Illinois to Fred and Dezolina Pari Massaglia. She married Jeff Ribak in Morton on May 23, 1992 and they just celebrated their 20th anniversary. Jeff survives. Also surviving are their children, Jill Ellis and Cathy (Semu) Mauluulu, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jeffrey (Donna) Heyder and Adam (Carla) Heyder both of Washington, David Heyder of Pekin, Dean Ribak of Phoenix, Christopher (Katrina) Heyder of East Peoria and Ginger (Andy) Light of Spring Bay; one sister, Catherine Naven of Pekin; 29 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Fred Massaglia and a grandson, David Legel, Jr. Judy and Jeff worked for Star Fleet Trucking and delivered recreational trailers all over the United States. Prior to that time, she had been a family service counselor at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens and Parkview Cemetery, both in Peoria. She will always be remembered for her love and generosity to family and friends and her enjoyment of cooking family dinners, especially Italian meals. Judy always claimed her greatest achievement was the caring and raising of her family. Judy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had been very active in the fellowship of Morton Ward. She was a graduate of Illinois Central College and earned a degree in Applied Science and Marketing. A celebration of Judy?s life will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Morton Ward with Bishop Jeff Braun officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation for Judy will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington and from 10 to 10:45 Thursday at the church. Memorials for Judy may be directed to the Huntsman Cancer Center (huntsmancancer.org) in Salt Lake City.
