Judith C. Weaver, 82, of Washington, IL passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Pekin Manor in Pekin, IL.
She was born on April 15, 1942, in Sullivan, IL, the daughter of Herbert and Lela Sampson Rogers. She married David Weaver on June 16, 1963, in Washington.
Surviving are two sons, Scott Weaver and Eric (Tanya Shickman) Weaver all of Washington. Further surviving are seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: two brothers, Gary (Dixie) Rogers of Peoria and Steve (Teri) Rogers of Washington. She was preceded in death by one infant son, Shawn, one infant great-granddaughter, Zayleigh Mae Weaver, and one brother, Jerry.
Judy dedicated 40 years to Morton Buildings, where she retired as a switchboard operator. Her voice was often the first one heard, greeting callers with a warmth that immediately welcomed them. Her colleagues remember her as the heart of the office, always ready with a kind word and a bright smile.
A member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington, Judy's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She lived her beliefs through her actions, offering support and compassion to all those around her.
Judy also served with the Washington Fire Department Auxiliary, where her contributions were invaluable. She was a pillar of support, always ready to lend a hand or offer encouragement to those in need.
One of Judy's passions was collecting Longaberger Baskets. This hobby brought her great joy and allowed her to connect with fellow collectors. Her collection was a source of pride and a topic that would light up her conversations.
Above all, Judy loved her grandchildren deeply. They were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. All who knew her will deeply miss her gentle nature and loving presence. Judy was a lovely lady whose legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be two hours before her service (11 am until 1 pm). Burial will follow her service at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
