PEORIA-Joyce C. Diekhoff, 90, of Bartonville, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 11:10pm, Saturday, December 31, 2016 at her residence. She was born on August 29, 1926 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Dan and Alma Harris Welk. She married George Diekhoff on January 18, 1947 in Peoria. He passed away on January 19, 2010. She was preceded in death by one daughter Diane LaHood in 2002, and three brothers. Surviving are three daughters Debra (Robert) O'Donnell of Bartonville, Denise Hasty of Phoenix, AZ and Tammy (Kurt) Juerjens of East Peoria. Joyce is further survived by her grandchildren Jeffrey O'Donnell, Scott O'Donnell, Sarah Bland, Katelyn Juerjens, Jason LaHood, and Adam LaHood as well as and 5 great grandchildren McKena O'Donnell, Kaylee O'Donnell, McKayla O'Donnell, Maddux Bland and Grayson Bland. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile Temple 36, where she was Past Queen and for many years served as Princess Recorder. She was a member of Glen Oak Christian Church for many years and a member of Peoria Emblem Club. Joyce was an avid golfer, belonging to various leagues throughout the years in the Peoria area and also served as an election judge for the City of Peoria. Cremation Rites have been accorded and a memorial service is scheduled for 10:30am, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her church with Rev. Randy Williams officiating. The family will then receive friends after the memorial service at the St. Sharbel II Community Center on Lake Ave from 11:30pm until 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be given in her name to the Daughters of the Nile, Temple 36 and Mohammed Shrine Temple.
