Joy E. Swenson, 85, of Washington passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at her residence. She was born on July 27, 1936, in Rensselaer, IN the daughter of Charles and Leila Long Hammond.

Surviving are her friend and companion Karen Steffen whom she made her home with; three sons Bob (Karen) Snyder of Germantown Hills, IL Mark (Jan) Swenson of Cadiz, KY, Michael Swenson of Peoria; and one daughter Laura Foley of Arizona. Also surviving are five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. One grandson Josh Snyder and one great grandson Derrek Swenson preceded her in death.

Joy was a hair stylist for over 50 years.  She enjoyed decorating her home and took great pride in doing so. Joy also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all.
