Joshua Dean Schertz age 36 of Fishers, Indiana formerly of Metamora passed away at 9:12pm Saturday Nov. 21, 2015 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born Feb. 13, 1979 in Peoria, Illinois to Richard D. and Carol (Noel) Schertz. He married Sylvia Lau on Aug. 12, 2005 in Palatine, Illinois. Surviving is his wife Sylvia (Lau) Schertz of Fishers, IN. Two sons Andrew Dean and Alexander Joshua Schertz both at home. Sister, Kirsten (Matthew) Hany of Normal, IL. Parents Dick and Carol Schertz of Metamora, IL. and his Grandmother Nell Schertz of Metamora. Preceded in death by his Paternal grandfather Donald Schertz, and Maternal grandparents Milburn and Bernadine Noel. Josh was a 1997 graduate of Metamora High School and Northern Illinois University where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Finance. He was Vice President of Treasury Services at Key Bank in Indianapolis and a national member of the Association for Financial Professionals. He attended Heartland Church in Indianapolis. He was active in coaching his sons' sports, was an avid fisherman and a Cub fan. Josh will be remembered as a loving son, grandson, brother, husband, father, and friend. His memory will be cherished by many. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Saturday Nov. 28, 2015 at Metamora Christian Union Church with Pastor Jeff Stearns and Pastor Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be Friday Nov. 27th from 4pm until 7pm at Metamora Christian Union Church and also one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora.
