WASHINGTON?Joseph Richard Taylor, 31, of Washington, passed away at 8:28 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 in the emergency room at OSF St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington. Joseph was born on February 17, 1982 to George E. and Susan (Williamson) Taylor in Pekin. Among those surviving are his mother, Susan Essig of Washington; his father, George Taylor of Peoria; two brothers, James E. (Christopher) Taylor of San Antonio, Texas and John M. D. Taylor of Washington; his grandmother, Mrs. James R. Taylor of San Antonio; two nephews, Logan and James Taylor and many loving aunts, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Julia Williamson and James R. Taylor. Joseph had worked as a welder for SMF, Inc. in Minonk and was a carrier for the Peoria Journal Star. He was a graduate of Washington Community High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College. He was a former member of the Boy Scouts of America and was a blood donor. Joseph enjoyed working on and racing cars. He was always fascinated by technology and loved computers. He will always be remembered for his remarkable wit. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Mark?s Lutheran Church in Washington where he was a member. A celebration of Joseph?s life will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Hanson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorials for Joseph may be directed to the Taylor Family Fund for the benefit of his nephews? education in care of Washington State Bank.
