John D. Yankevich, 71, of Spring Bay, IL, passed away unexpectedly at 10:15 am on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at his residence. He was born on April 30, 1950, in Sharon, PA, to John and Angeline (Pratt) Yankevich, Jr. He married Tonita Dunton on June 8, 1978 in Peoria, IL. They would have been married 43 years in June.

Surviving are his wife, Tonita of Spring Bay; daughter, Kristin (Aaron) Compton of Germantown Hills, IL; grandson, Peyton Compton and granddaughter, Tobie Compton both of Germantown Hills; sister, Cecilia (Sid) Kyler and family and brothers, Anthony Yankevich and family and Francis Yankevich all of Clearfield, PA; sisters-in-law Karen (Bruce) Weir and family of Peoria, IL and Pamela (Len) Pamson and family of Washington, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

John was a retired sprinkler fitter working for Local Union #669. He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church in Washington. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with this family.
