John R. Whited

WASHINGTON?John R. Whited, 68, of Washington, passed away at 2:36 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. John was born on October 16, 1946 in Farmington to Raymond and Frances (Picton) Whited. He married Linda Kent in Peoria on December 19, 1970. Linda passed away in Peoria on August 26, 1999. John later married Deborah Dembinski Sullivan on October 16, 2004. Debby survives. Also surviving are their six children, Cindy (Art) Lehman of Kokomo, Cheryl (Bob) Linsley and Kelly Baldovin, all of Washington, Heather Whited of Elmwood, Shannon Sullivan of Chicago and Sean (Daniella) Sullivan of Orlando; one brother, Allen (Alice) Whited of Decatur; one sister, Jane Anderson of Farmington; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. John had retired from Caterpillar where he had worked for more than 37 years and retired as a superintendent in maintenance. John was an avid bowler, playing in various leagues at Plaza Lanes for many years. He had several 300 games and is in the Bowling Hall of Fame. John also enjoyed playing pool and for many years participating in the Brothers Bowling Tournament in Peoria. He also had been a part of the Peoria Area Civic Chorale for a few years. A service to remember and celebrate John?s life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. The family will receive friends after 10 a.m. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations for John may be directed to either St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or Salvation Army.
