John S. Welter

John S Welter Jr, 67, born Nov. 27, 1948 in Evanston, IL to John Welter Sr and Lucille Krause, and was raised in Willmette, IL. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Lynn (Waterworth), his sister Cathy (Ken) Stec of California, brothers James (Stephani) Welter, and David (Maureen) Welter, from the Chicago area; nephew Andrew and niece Alisabeth. John passed away June 20, 2016 while visiting family and friends in Metamora, IL after thoroughly enjoying his visit with his brothers, family and friends in Chicago. John graduated from New Trier HS, Oakton Community College, and Sangamon State University, where he earned a degree in Psychology. He served in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam conflict. John lived in Pekin, IL; Red Wing MN, and most recently in Clearwater FL. John enjoyed working in his yard, home improvements, cooking and entertaining, golfing and riding his Harley. He will be greatly missed by all members of his extended family and friends. There will be a Celebration of Life Open House on July 3 from 1-5pm at the home of Doris Waterworth in Metamora.
