John C. Welk, 95, of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 1:13 am on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Washington Senior Living in Washington, IL.

He was born on August 5, 1929, in Peoria, IL, to John T. and Theo G. (Gray) Welk. He married Darlene M. Hill on June 29, 1963 in Peoria, IL. She passed away on February 11, 2023.

Surviving are their son, John M. Welk, Jr. of Germantown Hills; sisters-in-law, Myra (Dale) Young of Brimfield, IL and Peggy Welk of Fairhope, AL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William "Bill" Welk and Clifford Welk.

John was a U.S. Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a marketing executive for Caterpillar Tractor Company. John enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Yuma, Arizona with his wife, board games, and card games.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora.
