John Paul Voelker Jr

John Paul Voelker Jr. age 91 of Metamora, Illinois formerly of Low Point, Illinois passed away at 10:40am Saturday March 22, 2014 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He was born Dec. 21, 1922 in Metamora to John F. and Iva (Naffziger) Voelker. He married Marjorie F. Burton on June 24, 1945 in Metamora and she passed away on April 10, 2007. Surviving are three sons, John C. "Jack" (Marian) Voelker of Low Point, Dennis (Lorraine) Voelker of Spruce Pine, NC., Jerry (Kathy) Voelker of Morton. Two daughters, Marilynn Lamb of Eureka, Iris (Dennis) Kirchgessner of Washburn; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. One grandson, Ivan Jay Voelker and one brother Carroll Voelker preceded him in death. John attended Bradley Poly Tech and was a member of Theta XI Fraternity and worked as a draftsman for R. G. LeTourneau Company and was a life long farmer. Member of Taylor Lodge#98, Scottish Rite Consistory, Mohammed Shrine and Metamora Christian Union Church. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Thursday March 27, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Rev. Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be from 12noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Emergency 116.
