John Edward Foster

John Edward Foster, 81, of Minonk, IL, died Friday evening, June 7, 2024, at Carle Health-Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.

He was born on August 6, 1942, in Peoria, IL, the only child of the late Emory "Jack" Foster and Reta (Crank) Foster. He attended Metamora schools and served six years in the Illinois National Guard.

He married Rose Honald on October 15, 1966. They had two sons, John and Todd. He later married Dana Fox on May 25, 1990, gaining three more sons, Travis, Shannon, and Ryan.

John was a Teamster member for many years. He retired from Cox Transfer. John and Dana shared a lifelong love of horses and were members of the Illinois Buckskin Horse Association. They raised and showed halter and reigning horses.

He is survived by his wife, Dana of Minonk; sons, John (Jaime) Foster of Arenzville, IL, Todd Foster of Peoria, IL, Travis Fox of Eureka, IL, Shannon (Nada) Fox of Silverthorne, CO, and Ryan Fox; and grandchildren, Maggie Foster, Lane and Logan Fox, and Makena Fox.
