WASHINGTON?John Henry Bierrie, 58, of Washington, passed away at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. John was the son of Eric Peter and Ann Van Alstyne Parrott Bierrie and was born on August 27, 1954 in New York City. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris, who passed away in 1999. John married Terry Blackburn Havy on May 23, 2001 at Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida. Terry survives. Also surviving is his father, Eric Peter (Linda) Bierrie of Essex, Connecticut; two step-daughters, Chrissy (Michael) Ettafagh and Carrie (Jason) Yates, both of North Carolina and two sisters, Cassie (Kevin) Liddy of St. Louis and Liz (Tommy) Davison of Huntsville, Alabama. He was also preceded in death by his mother. John had been the President of WICC in Washington for the past several years. He was a veteran and had served in the United States Army. John had attended the University of New Mexico and Polytechnic Institute of New York University and had earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He was an active member of the Cat Fancy Association and also was the head of the breeder?s assistance program for the association. John was raised of the Presbyterian faith. He was also a member of the American Modelers Association and loved sailing. A celebration of John?s life will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Dick Hanson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday prior to services. Cremation rites will be accorded following services and final resting place of the cremains will be next to Doris in Virginia. Memorials for John may be directed to the Breeder?s Assistance Program, P.O. Box 334, Washington, Illinois 61571.
