Joel A. Toms

WASHINGTON - Joel A. Toms, 80, of Washington, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Generation of Riverview.

Joel was born on August 10, 1941, in Peoria to Charles and Pearls Bures Toms.

Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Gresham of Washington and Cindy (James) Scott of Mattoon, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren. His parents, two brothers and one infant sister preceded him in death.

He was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran. Joel worked for Hyster and Caterpillar Tractor Co., last working at Miller Welding in Washington. He enjoyed fishing, making clocks and tinkering with small engines.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled. Memorials in his name may be given to Northern Tazewell County Fire Protection.
