Joann Mcmorrow

JoAnn McMorrow, 85, of Metamora passed away at 7:23 pm on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Snyder Village in Metamora. She was born on April 10, 1930 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Charles and Edna (Coffman) Greeley. She married her high school sweetheart Jerry "Jer" McMorrow and they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on April 15 and he survives. Also surviving are their children Stan (Terri) McMorrow of Destin, FL, Rick (Mary) McMorrow of Germantown Hills, Mike McMorrow of Melbourne, FL, Debi (Mike) Parks of Metamora, and Dori (Kevin) Gresham of Olathe, KS. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren along with one brother Robert (Ellen) Greeley of Eureka, IL. Jo Ann was a sales clerk at Bergner's for 25 years and an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights for much of her life. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also maintained active friendships with her best friends from Woodruff High School all through the years. She loved to laugh and enjoyed teasing people, and the more she loved you the more she teased you. Jo Ann always enjoyed a beautiful sunset and will always be remembered long after the sun has set on her life on earth. "Jo" will be missed by so many people but we all look forward to rejoining her in heaven. The McMorrow family would like to thank the staff at Snyder Village for their wonderful care and compassion. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel, 219 East Partridge Street in Metamora from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name may be given to Snyder Village or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
