Jessica L. Smick, 33, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 17, 2025, at her residence in Pekin.

She was born on September 11, 1992, in Peoria the daughter of Calvin and Angela Peacock Smick.

Surviving are her father Calvin Smick of Pekin her mother Angela (Jim) Bullard of Washington, IL, her four sisters Megan Scott of Peoria, Hannah (Jordan) Wylie of Pekin, Kelsie Bullard of East Peoria, and Sierra Bullard of Washington, IL.  Also surviving are a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She proudly graduated from Washington Community High School in 2010, establishing a strong foundation for her future. Jessica dedicated her professional life to nurturing young minds at Rogy's Learning Center in Peoria. Her passion for child development was evident in her daily interactions, where she poured her loving spirit into the growth and happiness of the children under her care. Jessica's colleagues remember her as a pillar of positivity, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand. Jessica's zest for life was matched only by her eclectic interests. She was an avid collector of trinkets, with a particular fondness for Ninja Turtles and Batman memorabilia. Her playful nature was a source of delight for her friends and family, who often joined her in laughter and lighthearted antics. An outdoor enthusiast, Jessica found solace in the embrace of nature. She was happiest when hiking through the woods, breathing in the fresh air, and basking in the serenity of the great outdoors. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore the wonders of the world, always seeking new experiences and challenges. In addition to her love for the natural world, Jessica was a creative soul. She found joy in drawing and writing, expressing her innermost thoughts and feelings through her art. Her sketches and stories were a window into her vibrant imagination, a testament to her ability to find beauty in the everyday. Music was another of Jessica's great loves. She was often found listening to her favorite tunes, her enthusiasm for music was infectious, and she never hesitated to share this passion with those around her. Above all, Jessica will be remembered for her loving nature, her kindness, and her spirited approach to life. She approached every day with a warmth that could light up a room and a generosity that knew no bounds. Her legacy is one of compassion, joy, and an unwavering commitment to making the world a brighter place. Jessica's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit, however, will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us to embrace life's adventures with an open heart and a playful smile. Jessica Smick's memory will forever be a treasure in the hearts of those she touched.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 am Friday, October 24, 2025, at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington. Visitation will be one-hour prior to her service.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to her Go-Fund Me Page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-jessica-smick-support-her-family or to the Salvation Army.  Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington has been entrusted with arrangements.
