Jess Lathrop

Jess R. Lathrop, 91, of Metamora passed away at 9:20am, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Unity Point Health Methodist-Peoria. He was born on January 23, 1925 in Dundee, IL the son of Jess and Christina Nelson Lathrop. He married Emily Cesal on April 25, 1948 in Dundee, IL. Surviving are his wife and their children Teri (Mickey) Wittekiend of Washington, Brad (Debbie) Lathrop of Pekin and Tami Strickfaden of East Peoria. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Jess worked for Prairie Farms Dairy in Peoria for many years retiring in 1998 as a sales manager. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11am, Monday, August 15, 2016 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be one-hour prior to his service also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Midwest Children's Hospital Peoria Affiliate.
