WASHINGTON... Jerry E. Rogers, 71, of Washington, passed away at 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Morton Terrace in Morton. Jerry was the son of William and Lelia (Sampson) Rogers. Among those surviving is one sister, Judy Weaver of Washington; two brothers, Gary (Dixie) Rogers of Peoria and Steven (Terry) Rogers of Washington and many loving nieces and nephews. Jerry had been a truck driver and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He loved wood burning hobbies and motorcycles. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:30 at Evangelical United Methodist Church with Pastor Camilla Hempstead officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting the family in arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either the church or American Cancer Society.
