Jerry "JJ" Ratton Jr., 44, of Washington, Illinois, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

JJ was born on October 12, 1981, in Peoria, Illinois, to Brenda and Jerry Ratton Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Ratton Sr.; his sister, Heather Ratton; and his brother, Russell Ratton.Surviving are his wife, Beth Ratton, of Washington; his mother, Brenda Ratton (Tony Goodwin); his five children, Ashley (Dustin) Ratton, Wesley Ratton, Dominic (Kaylee) Ratton, Kaden Rasmussen, and Kian Rasmussen; and three stepchildren, Dominic Ponto, Steven Deatherage, and Emily Deatherage.

JJ cherished his family deeply and always looked forward to spending quality time with them. Whether it was camping, fishing, off-roading, or riding go-karts, he made every moment special.

He was a versatile and hardworking individual with experience as a roofer, painter, mechanic, and home-improvement expert. His diverse skills and dedication showcased his ability to adapt and excel in various roles throughout his life. He was always the first to volunteer his time to help others. 

Through his generosity as an organ donor with Gift of Hope, he gave of himself selflessly until there was nothing more he could give.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
