Jerome F. "Jerry" Beneventi

Jerome F. "Jerry" Beneventi, 79, of Metamora, IL, formerly of Peoria, IL passed away at 5:45 am on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at his residence. He was born on May 4, 1938 in Peoria, IL to Eugene and Lois A. (Henslin) Beneventi. He married Ruth Ellen Schneider on January 19, 1957 at the First Methodist Church in Peoria, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are children Brenda (Subbu) Varanasi of Des Moines, IA, Kimberly (Gordon) Woods of Nevada, IA, and Charles (Angela) Beneventi of East Peoria, IL; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and brother Cleon (Beverly) Beneventi of Dunlap, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Germantown Hills Baptist Church. He worked as a machinist for Caterpillar Tractor Company, retiring after 35 years. Jerry volunteered at OSF and Snyder Village for many years, enjoyed Camp Manitoumi where he worked for 30 years, volunteered at his church and took mission trips with his church, and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Germantown Hills Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Carlson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time on Wednesday at the church.
