Jeanette A. "Janet" (Peterson) Meeks

Jeanette A. "Janet" (Peterson) Meeks, 78, of Metamora, IL passed away at 9:39 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at her residence. She was born on July 8, 1937 in Gorham, IL to Fred and Norma (Patton) Hassebrock. She married Billy Peterson on August 13, 1955 in Macomb, IL. He died on August 21, 1987. Surviving are her children Allen Peterson of East Peoria, Harry (Reva) Peterson of LaRose, Steven (Jennifer) Peterson of Germantown Hills, and Debra (William) Seifert of Metamora; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one brother. Janet had worked at IVE Die Mold in Peoria for seven years and then at Independence Village in the housekeeping department from 1991 to 2008. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sports activities. She enjoyed watching televangelist Joel Olsteen and listening to his sermons and jokes. Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:30 am at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Chaplain Lauren Padgett officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria.
