Janet Helen Breitbarth

Janet Helen Breitbarth, 85, of Metamora, IL passed away at 12:38 am on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on May 22, 1932 in Peoria, IL to Jess and Helen (Baggs) Isonhart. She married Eugene T. Breitbarth and he passed away in 1988.

Surviving are her children Glori Daniel of Metamora, Cassie Rodgers of Peoria, Tammy Breitbarth of Amarillo, TX, Kevin (Lynne) Breitbarth of Brimfield, Darren "Dude" (Emma) Breitbarth of Tyler, TX, Jeannie (Steve) Szetela of Oxford, WI, Jannie (Rosamaria) Breitbarth of San Antonio, TX, Matthew (Margaret) Breitbarth of Metamora, and Jane (Butch) Kaebel of Prior Lake, MN; grandchildren Aubrey Daniel, Carlye and Rodney Knuppel, Grace Smiley, Miranda and Kayla Breitbarth, Aaron (Kayla) Breitbarth, Daisy Breitbarth, Jacob (Katy) Szetela, Sarah Szetela, Steven (Justine) Szetela, Bethany (Greg) Gaines, Mellina Breitbarth, Moses, Lazarus, and Faith Kaebel; great-grandchildren Jonah, Paige and Tessa Knuppel, Leo, Tax, Furiosa, and Zephyra Breitbarth, Arianna and Natasza Szetela, Liam Szetela, and Bristol and Brock Gaines; and brother Jess (Nadine) Isonhart of East Peoria. She was preceded in death by parents, grandson Charley Rodgers, and sisters Mary Catherine "Cassie" Thompson and Dorothy Dunnigan.

Janet was a Caterpillar Dieselette and instrumental in starting the girl's softball league in Germantown Hills. She was a huge sports fan. Her children and grandchildren were most important to her and a special thanks to the Bible Study Group ladies.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel in Metamora. No services will be held and cremation rites will be accorded after visitation. In honor of Janet's love for red, the family asks that you come wearing casual attire. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Germantown Hills Girls Softball Association, 100 Fandel Road, Metamora, IL 61548, Juvenile Diabetes Association Illinois Chapter, One North LaSalle Street, Suite 1200, Chicago, IL 60602, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
