James Willard Winkler, 56, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Metamora, Illinois passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Houston, Texas. He was born on May 17, 1961 in Peoria, Illinois to Janet Winkler and the late Willard Winkler. Jim was the beloved husband of Eloisa Winkler.

He is survived by his son, Alex Winkler; daughter, Amanda Winkler; step-son, Paul Bunch; brothers, Scott Winkler and Tom Winkler; and sister, Laura (Winkler) Bermes.

Jim graduated from Illinois State University and was a Board Certified Christian Counselor through the National Association of Christian Counselors. He was an elder at Movement Church, Houston, Texas. He worked as a counselor at Open Door Mission and was owner of Winkler Financial Services.

A Celebration of Life service with many expressions by residents and staff was held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Open Door Mission. Funeral Services were led by Pastor De'Andre Burgs, Lead Pastor of Movement Church on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston.
