James Tunnell

James Howard Tunnell, 72, of Washington passed away Monday, November 13, 2017, at Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.

He was born May 30, 1945, in Washington, IL to the late Howard and Beulah Broeg Tunnell. He married Sandra M. Frederick on December 21, 1990.

Surviving are his wife, daughters, Jennifer (Bill) Welsh and Jill (Buck) Thomas, step sons Brian Frederick and Adam (Kristy) Frederick, step daughter, Teri Richie, one brother John Tunnell and one sister Mary Tunnell along with 12 grandchildren.

Jim was a 1969 graduate of University of Illinois-Champaign. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company as a mechanical engineer for 42 years before retiring in 2007. He was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington.

At the request of Jim, his remains will be gifted to Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. A Memorial service is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Crossroads United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 3:00pm until his time of service also at the church.
