WASHINGTON...James Eric Swearingen, 45, of Washington, died at 2:42 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012 in the emergency room at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Jim was born on March 6, 1966 in Peoria to Kenneth W. and Kathryn Lane Swearingen. Among those surviving is his beloved partner, Teresa Bohm; one brother, Brad (Reta) Swearingen of Washington; two sisters, Brenda Pruett of Washington and Janet (Paul) Fruit of Sandwich, IL. and six loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim had worked as a welder for Case DMI in Goodfield. He graduated in the class of 1984 from Washington Community High School. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson. His favorite spots to fish were Barkley Lake or Brenda?s pond. Jim was an avid NASCAR fan and also an accomplished grillmaster who was known for his great pork bar-b-que. A celebration of Jim?s life will be held on Thursday, March 8 at 6 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Bob DeBolt officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of ashes will be on the family plot in Glendale Cemetery. Memorials for Jim may be directed to St. Jude, Midwest Affiliate.
