Francoise would move to Eureka, IL, where they would share 57 years of marriage. Baseball was a big part of Jim's life; he played throughout high school and with the Air Force. He coached little league and had the opportunity with his brother to take hitting & batting practice at Wrigley Field. He never missed watching a Cubs game. After 30 plus years, he retired from Caterpillar. He was a diehard Cubs fan, Bears fan and Fighting Illini fan. He enjoyed the simple things in life; golfing with his brother (and even got a hole in one!), being a member of the American Legion of Eureka, IL, and tending to his yard, garden, and roses.
