James D. Loomis, 40, of Metamora passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. He was born on April 17, 1972 in Ypsilanti Michigan the son of James and Connie Phelps Loomis. He married Angella Arnett on July 13, 1996 in Cement City, MI. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years Angella and his three beautiful children Kaitlyn 16, Travis 14 and Tyler 13 all of Metamora. He is also survived by his parents Connie-Sue Bell of Brooklyn, MI, and James (Brenda) Loomis of Harrison MI. Also surviving is one sister Terra (Tony) Voeks and his nephews Axel and Connor Voeks of Brooklyn MI. as well as one brother, Joe Loomis from Washington, IL. He will also be missed deeply by his in-law?s Rod & Deanna Arnett of Brooklyn MI, brother-in-law Rodney Arnett and nephews Dawson and Reece Arnett of Cement City MI, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Jim was preceded in death by Carl and Opal Phelps (Nan & Pap) of Bellville MI, Uncle Rick Phelps from Belleville, MI, Cousin Clifton Kelley from Ypsilanti, and cousin Ricky Phelps and beloved friend David D. Brand from Brooklyn, MI. Jim was an industrial electrician/shop manager at Illinois Crane, and will be missed by all his coworkers. He was exceptionally talented with electrical skills, and working with his hands. He loved his family and friends, fishing, swimming, spending time outside gardening, bonfires, listening to music and singing with his children, he was an avid Nascar fan, loved going to Michigan International Speedway with friends. He enjoyed drinking beer and was often the life of the Party. Jim was a great son, nephew, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend, He was and always will be our rock. Visitation will be held at Mason Funeral Home in Metamora on Friday July 20th from 3pm until 6pm. Further Visitation will be held on Sunday July 22 at Borek-Jennings Funeral Home in Brooklyn, MI from 1pm until 6pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday July 23rd at Cement City Baptist Church with Angella?s Uncle, Rev. Ned Bernstein officiating. Burial will follow in Cement City Baptist Memorial Gardens.
