James W. Kerrigan

James W. Kerrigan, 72, of East Peoria, IL, passed away at 11:29 pm, Sunday, November 28, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

On July 23, 1949, he was born in Eureka, IL, to Francis and Lorraine Fagot Kerrigan.  He married Mary Karcher on April 28, 1973, in Washington, IL.

Surviving are his wife, one son Kyle (Renae) Kerrigan of Kickapoo, IL; one daughter Shae (Michael) Horan of Piedmont, SC.  Also surviving are four grandchildren Dylan and Elaina Horan, Stella and Rosemary Kerrigan; two sisters Sharon Gillette of Forest Lake, MN and Carol (Wayne) Fliginger of Kewanee, IL.   His parents, two sisters Paula Chaney and Marilyn Kerrigan, preceded him in death.

Jim was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran.  He worked for the Peoria Journal Star for many years, last working as an editor before retiring.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, December 3, 2021, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington.  Visitation will be one-half hour before his service also at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Illinois Conservation Foundation, https://ilconservation.org/ or Ducks Unlimited, https://www.ducks.org/.  Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.
