James P. Holmes

James P. Holmes, 71, of East Peoria passed away at 6:57am Wednesday January 16, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on September 21, 1941 in Galesburg, IL the son of Lowell R. and Margaret Stott Holmes. He married Judy Meyerholz Bitner in October of 1993. Surviving is his wife of East Peoria, three sons Terry, Mike and Jamie Holmes; stepfather Robert Ainley of Galesburg; two step-sons Mark Bitner and Don (Denise) Bitner all of Germantown Hills, IL. Also surviving are several grandchildren, five step grandchildren as well as one brother Bill (Sandy) Holmes of Suisun, CA; two sisters Janet (Ron) Morris of Neponset, IL; Cecelia (Chuck) Basham of Galesburg, IL; one sister in law Beverly wife of the late Russell Holmes of Richmond, VA. One step-son, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death He was a meat manager for many years working at Thompson?s Food Basket and then at Sullivan Foods before retiring in 2004. Funeral Services will be 11am on Monday Jan 21st , 2013 at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills with Pastor Dan Leman officiating. Visitation will be Monday Jan 21st from 10am until his time of service also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers memorials in his name may be given to the American Cancer Society.
