IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James A.
Fowler
February 9, 1936 – December 24, 2015
James A. Fowler, 79, passed away on the morning of Thursday, December 24, 2015 at his home in Germantown Hills, IL. Jim was born on February 9, 1936 in Industry, IL to Thomas P. and Ponzia K. (Hunter) Fowler. He graduated from Industry High School and then Bradley University in Peoria, IL with a civil engineering degree. Jim married Elizabeth Joanne Parkins on December 28, 1956 at his parent's home in Industry, IL. They were happily married for over 57 years. She passed away on March 15, 2014. He is survived by three daughters Kathy (Garry) Braman, Kim (Rick) Gordon, and Cheri (Jason) Vetos; seven grandchildren Scott Braman, Jason Gordon, Nikki Gordon, Erica (Brandon) Stewart, Danica, Develyn, and Danissa Vetos; three great-grandchildren Alex Mines, Courtnee Gordon, and Brody Schubert; and one brother Luther "Crocker" Fowler. Jim's parents and one brother Thomas preceded him in death. Jim retired from Komatsu and enjoyed working at Video World, which he opened on November 15, 1991 with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. He did beautiful woodworking and loved fixing things in his garage. Nothing ever needed to be replaced; he could fix anything! Jim enjoyed family vacations fishing in Wisconsin and tinkering at his workbench at home. "Home is where the heart is" never applied more to any man. It was his favorite place to be and will never be the same. Our hearts are heavy without him. Cremation rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled. Arrangements are being handled by Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
