Jacob "Jake" T. Christner, 86, of Roanoke, IL, passed away at 5:15 pm on Thursday, September 19,2024, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
He was born September 20, 1937, in Shelbyville, IL, to Joe D. and Emma (Eigsti) Christner. He married Nora Jane Hostetler on May 20, 1964, in Roanoke, IL. She passed away on November 20, 1999.
Surviving are his children, Michael (the late Susan) Christner of Lowpoint, IL, Jeremy (Denise) Christner of South Wayne, WI, Jenny (Eric) Ulrich of Washburn, IL, and Marlin (Joyce) Christner of Benson, IL; fourteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and siblings, Gloria Christner of Roanoke, IL, Barbara (the late Ervin) Hostetler of Roanoke, IL, and Emily (the late Kenneth) Kennell of Sarasota, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Ethan Jacob, three brothers, and three sisters.
Jake spent his life working as a carpenter and an excavating equipment operator. He was very strong in his faith and a member of the North Linn Amish Mennonite Church in Roanoke.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 23, 2024, at North Linn Amish Mennonite Church with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the church. Burial will be at the Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery in Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to North Linn Amish Mennonite Church or the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke, 1102 West Randolph Street, Roanoke, IL 61561.
