Ivis D. Stringer, 92, of Washburn, IL, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025.
He was born January 14, 1933, in Washburn, the son of Dewey and Ida Bachman Stringer. He married Barbara Kempf on March 16, 1952, in Roanoke, IL. She passed away on July 30, 2020, after 68 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Louie Davenport, and one granddaughter, Amanda Albertson, along with his sisters, Lorene Dingledine, Jewell Springer, and his twin sister, Iris Speck.
Surviving are his three daughters, Pam (Landy) Tangbakken of Roanoke, Diane Davenport of Secor, and Carolyn (Roger) Kenagy of Eureka, IL. Also surviving are four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Ivis was born on the family farm in Linn Township and lived and farmed there his entire life. He worked for the Linn Township Road Department for 52 years, serving as Road Commissioner from 1989 to 1997. He also worked for K&S Implement in Eureka for 10 years. He was a member of the Roanoke Mennonite Church and was an usher for the church for many years. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his buddies over coffee. He volunteered for many years for the Eureka Food Pantry and the Mennonite Relief Sale.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Roanoke Mennonite Church. A celebration of life will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Roanoke Mennonite Church. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington has been entrusted with arrangements.
