Irene Marie Durst, 89 of Eureka, Illinois passed away Wednesday March 21, 2012 at her residence. She was born on November 3, 1922 to the late Rhudy and Erma (Zilch) Miller. She married Quentin "Jim" Durst on August 24, 1940, he preceded her in death on December 18, 2003. She is survived by one daughter; Sharon (Marvin) Perzee of Ashkum, IL., one daughter-in-law, Carol Durst of Eureka, IL. 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Durst, Granddaughter, Karen Cox and Great Grandson, Zachary Rabideau. Sisters; Emma Shawgo, Frances Zimmerman, Erma Call and a brother Lester Miller. Irene lived her entire life in Woodford County. She began her work career at Caterpillar and ended a productive employment history at the law office of Brack Huschen in 1984. Her family was her first priority; she was a devoted wife, supportive mother, and extraordinary grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her Church, St. Lukes Catholic Church, was very important in her life. Her deep faith in God gave her the strength to carry her through many challenges and tragedies. She was active in the church Guild, Relay for Life, meals on wheels, Republican Party and various other volunteer activities. She enjoyed her Wednesday card club, her friends, neighbors and relatives on both sides of the family. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am Monday March 26, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Father Eugene Radosevich officiating. Visitation will be Sunday March 25, 2012 from 4pm until 6pm at the funeral home and also one hour prior to services. Interment to follow at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Metamora.
