Imogene Irene (Crane) Larson

Imogene Irene Larson (née Crane), 109, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 4:12 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Snyder Village Health Center in Metamora, IL.

She was born in Filson, Illinois on November 27, 1914 to Frank and Cora Crane. Her husband, Roy Larson, of fifty five years, preceded her in death along with their daughter Sandra.

Surviving is her daughter, Sherry (Larson) Wilson and her two granddaughters, Courtney Wilson Haynes and husband Christopher and Kristen (Wilson) Baron and husband Ethan. She has three great grandsons, Colgan, Porter and Wilson and two great granddaughters, Scarlett and Lila. All of them reside in the Chicago area.

Nothing made Imogene happier than being surrounded by her family and those special little great grandchildren. Imogene has lived in Metamora since 1948 when her husband got his first teaching position at Metamora High School. They soon broke ground and built their family home on Hanover Street where she lived until age 100 and then moved into Assisted Living at Snyder Village. She has very fond memories of the area: her church, her friends, her neighbors, and her bridge group. Many would visit her and make her day.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private services will be held for immediate family with burial of ashes in Arcola Cemetery in Arcola, IL at a later date.
