Surviving are his children Susan (Noel) McClintock, Mathew (Chrie) Burdett, Mandy Burdett, Michele Burdett, Chris Burdett all of Australia, Cheryl Robbins of Urbana Il, Tina (Dave) Schaffer and Lori (Brad) Wood both of Metamora. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; 13 live in Australia, and 6 locally Makenzie Robbins, Grant, Garrett, and Mollie Wood and Madeline and Karli Schaffer. One sister Beryl (Bob) James of Sidney Australia. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. Ian served in the Army in Australia, and was a Civil Engineer for Cessnock New South Wales Australia for 30 years retiring in 1992. He loved woodworking, traveling, gardening, and fishing. Member of Wilmore Hunting Club in Morton Il. He coached youth soccer in Australia for many years. Ian loved his family and grandchildren, and he loved to sing and had a song for everything. Services will be at 11:00am Tuesday Aug. 31, 2010 at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Reverend Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded after services with burial of ashes in Australia at a later date. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com
