Herbert Lee Boken

Herbert Lee Boken, 83, of Metamora, Illinois passed away with his family by his side in Scottsdale, Arizona on Friday, January 10, 2020.  He was born on June 5, 1936.

Herb is survived by his son Rodney Boken of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter Tammi (Curt) Barber of Eaton, Colorado; grandchildren Danny, Niki (Doug), Casey, Madison, and Tyler; six great-grandchildren; and sister Pat Hornack of Panama City Beach, Florida.

In 1967 Herb married Martha Grant and they later divorced.  Herb grew up in the Metamora area and graduated a proud Metamora Redbird in 1954. Herb spent much of his life attending Metamora sporting events and he was especially fond of the football games and would travel far to watch them play. During his retirement Herb loved selling popcorn and other snack items at the Metamora Farmers Market. He had many loyal customers who would come just to buy his goodies.  Herb accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Day Spring Christian Church in Windsor, Colorado on May 1, 2019.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel in Metamora, Illinois.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
