Helen Yvonne Rich, 89, of Washington, IL, passed away peacefully at 9:20 AM on Friday, November 1, 2024, at her home, surrounded by loving family.

Born on June 15, 1935, in Washington to Samuel and Mildred Grove Hellweg,  She married Richard "Dick" Rich on January 25, 1958, in Washington, a partnership that lasted until his passing on December 15, 2016.

Helen is survived by her devoted daughters, Cheri (Mike) Tanner of Washington and Diane Bauman of Eureka; cherished grandchildren, Holly (Jeff) Pflederer, Kristin (Justin) Hays, Cody (Rachael Mocilan) Bauman, and Brock (Brittany) Bauman; plus six adored great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Hellweg, who resides in Tennessee. She is further survived by her loyal four footed companion, Niki, who brought comfort to her life.

Helen's journey began as a devoted mother, a role she embraced. Her daughters were her pride, and as her family grew to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her heart swelled even more.

For many years, Helen and Dick worked side by side at Dick Rich Plumbing, exemplifying teamwork and commitment.

Together with her husband, Helen found joy in travel. The couple's favorite destinations were the sun-kissed shores of Ft. Lauderdale and Pompano Beach, Florida. These escapes to the sea were not mere vacations but cherished chapters in their love story, filled with laughter, adventure, and the creation of lifelong memories. She and Dick cherished their weekend dinners, particularly at Paparazzi's in Peoria, where they always savored their favorite dishes thanks to their standing reservation.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Alzheimer's Association - Central Illinois Chapter.
