Helen J. Clark

Helen J. Clark, 88, of Lowpoint, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in Henry, IL. She was born on February 21, 1929 in Lowpoint, IL to Cleo and Laura (Grebner) Buchanan. She married George E. Clark on September 19, 1953 in Washburn, IL. He passed away on October 18, 1990. Surviving are her two sons George A. (Carolynn) Clark of Bloomington and Dean (Deanna) Clark of Roanoke; two daughters Becky (Jim) Balk of Lowpoint and Joann (Kevin) Wood of Varna; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother Marion (Suzanne) Buchanan, brother-in-law Kevin Johnson; and sister-in-law Merry Lou Buchanan. She was preceded in death by her siblings Kenneth, Gerald, Lawrence, Rita, Robert, and Thelma. Helen was owner-operator of the Farm Restaurant, Catering, and Hayloft with her husband, George, in Lowpoint for many years. She was an avid member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Washburn and their Altar Rosary Society. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Washburn with Father Vien Van Do officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel, Metamora with visitation to follow from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Buckingham Cemetery in Lowpoint. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Buckingham Cemetery, c/o Myra Hare, Treasurer, 773 Columbia Road, Washburn, IL 61570.
