Hazel C. Calvert

WASHINGTON?Hazel C. Calvert, 96, formerly of Washington, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at her home at Riverview in East Peoria. Hazel was born on October 11, 1916 in Morton to Louis and Anna (Pfeifer) Wageman. She married Frank B. Calvert in Washington on June 27, 1935. Frank passed away on August 5, 1981 in Peoria. Among those surviving are two sons, Franklin D. (Joyce) Calvert and Glen P. (Cynthia) Calvert, both of Washington; five loving grandchildren, Cynthia (Dave) Workman, Mark Calvert, Aaron Calvert, Chris Calvert and Laura (Kevin) Erickson and three special great grandchildren, Jennifer (Rusty) Duckworth, Sarah Workman and Natalie Workman. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Hazel was a lifetime member of St. Mark?s Lutheran Church and was also a member of the Washington Historical Society, Washington Women?s Club and the Washington Mother?s Club. One of the highlights for Hazel was the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. She also loved to travel in later years, with trips taking her all over the country, as well as Europe and Mexico. Funeral services for Hazel will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark?s Lutheran Church in Washington with Pastor John Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Visitation for Hazel will be from 10 to 10:45 at the church on Thursday. Mason-White Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
