Harry W. Cain

Harry W Cain, 77, of East Peoria, IL, passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL, on October 29, 2022. He was born September 9, 1945, in Spring Valley, IL, to Woodrow and Jean (Hurt) Cain. He married Marsha L. (Krider) Chicon on June 18, 1989, in Peoria.

He is survived in death by two sons, Harry E Cain (Lenore) of Oklahoma and Donny Baumgardner of Florida. Two stepdaughters Sue (Rick) Hedger of Washington, IL, Kim Chicon of Bartonville, and two stepsons Mike Chicon of Washington, IL, and Wally (Kelle) Chicon of Bartonville, IL. Two sisters, Nancy (Doug) Schupp and Carol Barth, both of Washington. Sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richie Cain, in 2015, his mother, Jean, in 2006, his father, Woodrow, and one sister Margie Conner.

Harry graduated Henry-Senachwine High School in 1963. He then served in the United States Navy from 1964-1968. Harry then went to work at Caterpillar in East Peoria in January of 1968, last working in building H, retiring in February of 2007. He was a member of UAW Local 974, NRA, and AARP.

He enjoyed spending time with family, loved to go fishing, and loved to travel. He also enjoyed playing euchre.

At Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, a funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, November 7, 2022. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until his time of service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton, with Military Honors being rendered. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
