Harold "Doug" Riggert

Harold "Doug" Riggert, 72, of Metamora, IL passed away at 10:40 am on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at his residence. He was born on March 14, 1943 in Peoria, IL to Hans W. and Mae (Aders) Riggert. He married Judith K. Komnick on April 28, 1968 in Peoria, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his two daughters Jill (Brian) Koch of Springfield, IL and Donya Riggert of Metamora; seven grandchildren Chas (Sami) Bruess, Jalynn Bruess, Colin Koch, Ben Koch, Katie Koch, Justin Koch, and H. Gabriel Riggert; and brother Richard "Dick" (Laura) Riggert of Metamora. He was preceded in death by his parents. Doug was a retired self-employed trucker. He had been a member of the Oakwood Cemetery Board. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Washington and a member of the church choir. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Washington with Reverend Tom Heren officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Washington or Hands of Love Ministry, 704 Devon Drive, Germantown Hills, IL 61548.
