Harold W. Kiesewetter

Harold W. Kiesewetter, 91, of Metamora, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at his lake house in Long Lake Sarona, Wisconsin. He was born on August 24, 1925 in Worth Township, Woodford County, IL to Frank C. and Catherine (Adams) Kiesewetter. He married Jenny E. "Emma Jo" Snyder on April 15, 1950 in Lostant, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are son Kenneth (Cindy) Kiesewetter of Metamora; daughter Susan Forester of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren Sara (Wesley Drew) Kiesewetter and Jenell (Matt Boehl) Kiesewetter; great-grandchildren Makenna Reeves, Olivia Hecathorn, and Sylvan Drew; brothers Herbert (Phyliss) Kiesewetter of East Peoria and Arthur (Delores) Kiesewetter of Metamora; and sisters Alice (Paul) Markiewicz of Springfield, PA, Luella Shawhan of Peoria, and Marjorie (Robert) Mason of Metamora. He was preceded in death by grandson Douglas Forester, two sisters, and one brother.

Harold was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He worked for AMOCO as an independent jobber until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Lady of Sorrows 3060, and the American Legion Post 89 all in Metamora. Harold loved dancing, playing cards, fishing, and enjoying time with his family at his lake house in Wisconsin.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 28, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with visitation to follow from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora with military rites accorded. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Mary's School, 415 West Chatham Street, Metamora, IL 61548.
