Gwen A. Kubley

WASHINGTON?Gwen A. Kubley, 91, of Washington, passed away peacefully at 8:10 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Washington Christian Village. Gwen was born on November 3, 1920 in Washington to William and Ethel Brown Hepler. She married Harold W. Kubley on August 12, 1944 in Tacoma, Washington. Harold passed away on June 14, 1990 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Lillian, Virginia, Willa Mae "Billie", and Margaret. Among those surviving are many loving nieces and nephews. Gwen had worked as a telephone operator and in the service department of Caterpillar for 22 years prior to her retirement in September of 1980. Gwen was a member of Washington Christian Church, was active in the Washington Historical Society and had volunteered at Washington Christian Village. Funeral services for Gwen will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Washington Christian Church with Pastor Jeff Browning officiating. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:45 at the church. Burial will be on Monday at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mason-White Funeral Home. Memorial donations for Gwen may be directed to either Washington Christian Church or Washington Historical Society.
