Gresha Karla Sommer

Gresha Karla Sommer, 57, of Metamora, IL passed away at 8:30 am on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at her residence. She was born on October 7, 1957 in Peoria, IL to Fred I. and Eva J. (Maxedon) Lueders. She married Clint L. Sommer on May 27, 1977 in Washington, IL. He survives. Also surviving are her mother Eva J. Hendrickson of Decatur, IL; children Adam (Melissa) Sommer of Peoria Heights and Anna (Jim) Sickinger of Metamora; grandchildren Aiden, Emmett, and Eisley Sickinger and Houston and Zoey Sommer; and brother Fred (Mary Jo) Lueders, Jr. of Venice, FL. She was preceded in death by an infant, her father, and step-father Swede Hendrickson. Gresha graduated from Washington Community High School in 1975 and Oehrlein School of Cosmotology. She was first employed at Colonial Beauty Salon, then owned Hairitage, Ltd. and lastly owning Sommer Place at her home. She attended Riverside Community Church in Peoria and Metamora Mennonite Church. Gresha loved knitting, camping, reading to her grandchildren and traveling, especially to Hawaii. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Metamora Mennonite Church with the Rev. Dr. Jon Byler officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until time of service at the church.
