Glen D. Sparks

WASHINGTON...Glen D. Sparks, 68, formerly of Washington, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at his sister?s home in Chillicothe. Glen was born on March 9, 1944 in Peoria to Loren and Harriet (Miars) Sparks. He married Jean Eilers on June 19, 1993 in Jubilee State Park. Jean passed away in December of 2011. Among those surviving are two sons; Tim (Kim) Sparks of Peoria and Scott (Chrissie) Sparks of Aurora, Illinois; one step-daughter, Pam Robinson of Washington; one sister, Helen Ellis of Chillicothe; two brothers Gary Sparks of Peoria and Lee Sparks of Minnesota and 8 grandchildren. Glen retired from Caterpillar in 1995 and had worked in the foundry and tire plants. After retiring from Caterpillar they moved to Dundee, Florida and Glen worked for SeaWorld until 2008. Glen served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. He also belonged to the UAW and American Motorcycle Association. Glen loved Chevy?s, motorcycles and drag racing. A celebration of life service for Glen will be held in the Senior Room at Five Points in Washington on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial of cremains will be later at Lakeside Memorial Park in Winter Haven, Florida. Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Institute.
